The main highlight of a stay at Wilbur Hot Springs is enjoying
the benefits of our natural hot mineral water. Those who immerse
themselves in Wilbur's hot springs are immediately aware that it has
remarkable healing properties, which enter the body in a way similar
to how a transdermal patch releases medicine. And the rare and unique
configuration of minerals in the water sets Wilbur apart from all the
other hot spring resorts and spas in Northern California. This is why
people over the last centuries have come to Wilbur to experience the
therapeutic waters that heal the body and soothe the soul.

The miracle of Wilbur water
I wanted to let you know the miracle of Wilbur water. Of course, I'm sure
you already know, but you don't know about my experience!
I've been in so much pain due to RA (rheumatoid arthritis) that it's been
difficult to walk, cook, dress -- well, LIVE! I hadn't been to Wilbur in
a couple of years, I think, so it was heaven to finally get back there.
My companion and I stayed two glorious nights. The tubs were the perfect
temperature on the second day,
and I was able to relax by floating in the cool tub for hours on end. Just
defying gravity is a wondrous experience for these painful, swollen, deformed
joints of mine. I was so very surprised that on that second day there,
I was able to walk down the stairs just like a temporarily abled person!!
It was so exciting. Thank you for Wilbur!
The healing waters of Wilbur
" . . . Timeless – that is the entire experience
at Wilbur Hot Springs.
Absolutely timeless. There is no distractions, there are no urgent issues,
there is nothing to worry about while you are there. We relaxed in the
simple beauty of the baths and enjoyed the many amenities that the resort
had to offer such as the reading room, the pool table, the natural setting
– everything had a relaxed charm to it that seemed to be a place out of
time.
My wife and I visited the Hot Springs to try something close to home (Sacramento), adventurous and new, as well as to be easy on the wallet. Wilbur gave us all of those and more. We arrived and noticed right away that there was a very serene and peaceful calm about the place – no loud noises, no cars or highways, no planes overhead, no modern life.
We naturally started speaking in whispering tones, out of reverence for
the environment we were in.
As soon as we unpacked the car, we forgot all about watches and clocks
and started to just have fun and be ourselves. There were times that I
felt like a teenager in love again for the first time – there were no pressures
on anything and no restraints about what I could do or when. My wife and
I connected on new levels as we were removed from distractions that have
built up around us. We enjoyed just sitting and meditating in the baths,
and also playing like kids in the swimming pool.
The stars! Oh the stars! At night, after we watched the sun go down, we
just relaxed in a hot pool and watched the stars appear. In the city you
could never see so many stars. We even were able to see the Milky Way and
how the collection of stars leaves a gentle white field in the sky. It
truly was a awesome site. Both her and I agree that this was our best vacation
that we have ever taken."
The water has
a good healing power
" . . . I have visited Wilbur Hot Springs many times, and I believe
that the water has a good healing power. After I soak in the pool, I will
fall asleep easily. Then, I wake up, and soak in the pool again, then
sleep again. After I repeat the cycle a few times, I will feel energetic,
and can sleep only a few hours per day when I'm back home."
One of the most peaceful places I've ever been
too
"... Having time alone at Wilbur Hot Springs. I have several times
spent an entire day at Wilbur without talking to anyone. People who go
there are extremely sensitive to the peace and privacy of others. In fact,
talking is strongly discouraged in the tubs. There's a sign by the road
just before you arrive at Wilbur that says "Time to Slow Down",
and that's just what people do -- slow down and calm down. You can hike
without seeing another person for hours. Because it's far from the highway
and there's no electricity, it's extremely quiet. I find it one of the
most peaceful places I've ever been too". Melinda
It was incredibly
relaxing for us
". . . Wilbur Hot Springs -- is a great one. I went for a weekend
last year with my boyfriend and people really just left us alone. It kind
of became a joke with us -- we'd be cooking in the kitchen or hanging
out in the baths and people would go in and out without saying a word.
We went for a hike and didn't see a soul. It was incredibly relaxing for
us and definitely NOT a social event."
Healing, magical place
" ... I'd like to thank you for every thing you've done to bring
this healing, magical place to all our lives. You've given us gift that
is so necessary and I believe the 'regulars' there consider it as a place
of there own, if only for a few days, and take care of it and respect
it."
In awe of the grounds, hotel, water
" ... There was a terrible toxic spill in the river near Dunsmuir
so we opted to go to Wilbur Hot Springs instead. I was so in awe of the
grounds, hotel, water, surroundings, that I have made it a 'must' to come
at least once a year. The first couple of years the kerosene lamps were
still there, which I thought was just so cool, it really felt like I was
stepping back in time."
Can Heaven wait?
" ... Gratitude to Wilbur. This past weekend I was privileged to practice
yoga on your deck in the early morning. Refreshing sounds of nature, birds,
running water, a whirring visit from a humming bird during one of the
asanas - and I ask myself; can heaven wait?"
A sacred place
" ... Keep up the good work. Wilbur is a sacred place."
