Dear Friends of Wilbur:
A number  of you have written to me expressing your concerns over  Wilbur's recent  SUITS ON  W eekend  and I wanted to give you a reply.

We created the SUITS ON  Week end for two reasons:

1 -  To make it possible for "modest" friends and family of present guests to experience and enjoy Wilbur.

2 - To do something different to  encourage new guests to visit Wilbur.  I think  we accomplished both : M an y thanks to all who participated and those who recommended the  Wilbur  experience to others.  Please note that we have no intention of moving away from our "clothing optional" policy -- which both our guests and I personally enjoy too much.  However, on rare occasions, we may offer a SUITS ON Weekend, to welcome others not comfortable with our usual approach.  But please don't worry, clothing-optional friends, this does NOT portend any major change at Wilbur. In fact, this was our first-ever (in 33 years) Wilbur SUITS ON Weekend.  I wore my red, white and blue bathing suit, which was given to me by a patient from New York some 20 years ago.  The weather at Wilbur on Sunday the 23rd of January was clear blue, beautiful and 75.9 degrees F.  Yes, you read that correctly.

This coming weekend Charlie Cascio, the former head chef at Esalen, will be at Wilbur for a gourmet Guest Chef Weekend -- and as usual, clothing is optional.  So come to Wilbur, take off your clothes, luxuriate in the world's most healing hot mineral waters, partake of delectable food,  pick up some cooking tips from Charlie in the kitchen , and leave behind your worries about the world.  We hope to see you soon!
In good health,

Richard
